Removing Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) notification in Windows XP can be done in two ways, using manually and removal tool. But with both manually and using the tool, you will not be able to use automatic updates feature, so you should disable this feature after you perform the steps below.
For you who choose the manual way, Perform the following steps to remove Windows Genuine Advantage notification :
1. Open RegEdit and open the key below :
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon \ Notify
2. Delete the folder “WgaLogon™ and all its contents
3. Restart your Windows XP
4. Log in to safe mode by pressing F8 when booting
5. Delete the following files:
C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ WgaLogon.dll
C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ WgaTray.exe
C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ LegitCheckControl.dll
Dont forget to turn off the automatic updates after do above steps, if not then Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) notification will be appear again.
